 This compact, handheld RFID Wireless Bluetooth reader is battery operated and communicates wirelessly with a host computer via a standard Bluetooth interface. The host computer may be either a Pocket PC or a desktop PC.
The benefit of this design is that standard off-the-shelf mobile computers that are Bluetooth capable may be deployed with IntelaTrac and RFID without the need to specially configure or build in an RFID scanner engine.
The Bluetooth interface enables the operator to gather data and communicate at a distance of up to 30 feet from the host computer. On board status LEDs and a power/read switch are incorporated into the design. The Bluetooth reader provides the ability to read and write to the 134kHz low frequency transponders that are used in the ST1 tag.
The reader has been certified for Intrinsically Safe environments - ATEX II 2 G.
